Decisions, we make them every day. But what happens when someone else's decision affects your life? Amanda had heard all the excuses. In 2004, she was working as a police officer in Alberta. She was used to seeing the fall out of others decisions (like impaired driving) but she was completely unprepared for the night when someone else's decision would change her life. Never once did she think she would become a victim of impaired driving. This presentation includes Amanda's full story about what happened that fateful night as well as information on the cost of drugs and alcohol in the workplace, the problem of enabling, how to recognize if someone is under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol, the employer/employee/student relationship regarding marijuana in the workplace/school, medical marijuana and the rules surrounding it, legislation examples, how a criminal code charge could change an employee’s life, insurance liability and a hands on demonstration with the Fatal Vision alcohol and marijuana simulation goggles. Come to this presentation to gain a wealth of knowledge, learn a story you will never forget and see if you can walk the line!
