This session we will discuss the importance of building background knowledge, academic language and other scaffolded supports to increase language acquisition while not watering down content for culturally and linguistically diverse students. There will also be time to plan, look at resources, ask questions and collaborate.

Angela Skene completed her masters in English Language Learners from the University of North Dakota. She is passionate about sharing strategies to help culturally diverse students achieve success and equity in the classroom.
