For students growing up in a society with instant access to information, the ability to read and assess the accuracy of content is an important skill to develop. Working with primary sources offers a means of building inquiry, analysis, and critical thinking skills. This presentation will highlight Historica Canada’s free, bilingual resources designed to guide educators looking to include primary source analysis in classroom activities. Built around the Historical Thinking Concepts, our resources offer inquiry-based learning strategies that incorporate historical evidence into the narratives we teach. Join us to learn about Historica Canada’s resources and develop new strategies for building primary source analysis into your teaching. All Historica Canada resources are free and bilingual. Our education guides are developed in consultation with educators, pedagogical and subject matter experts to ensure that the resources complement provincial and territorial curricula across the country.
