As Alberta educators begin to prepare for the implementation of new curricula, they face many seemingly competing demands: How do we ensure students know “the basics” and develop conceptual understanding, all while nurturing student competency? This session will explore how a focus on quality thinking can address such questions. Participants will examine the key attributes of quality thinking and identify effective and practical strategies to nurture it in all subjects for all students. This session will feature ideas valuable for all teachers and instructional leaders.
