In Canada, 1 in 8 children suffers from anxiety, while only 20% of these children get the help they need. Anxiety manifests in many ways:Panic attacks, separation anxiety, stomach aches, headaches, tantrums, obsessions/compulsions, avoidance of activities, racing thoughts, troubles with sleep, rigid behaviours, aggression etc.In this workshop, professionals will learn about the psychological and physiological roots of anxiety, why it is on the rise in our children, and what to do to help children better manage it. Research and theory in the field of mental health and interpersonal neurobiology will be explored and attendees will be given 15+ concrete, direct tools to help their students regulate their anxiety in the classroom that also foster resiliency.
